CA court to hear pat-down case

Published by zlobe at 6:18 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Back in 2005, two San Francisco 49ers fans objected to getting a pat-down search upon entering the football stadium. Now, the case has gone to the California Supreme Court in a question of invasion of privacy. For the past few years at pro football games, all fans get patted down on their way in. Daniel and Kathleen Sheehan were offended by this. I have experienced this at other sporting events and concerts. I always see it as just a sign of the times and a way of feeling more secure. In my opinion, often they don’t even try very hard in their search and it is more of a formality. Maybe some of you have had experiences where you’ve felt differently. The 49ers say it is a matter of security and NFL policy, and that by buying the ticket you are agreeing to this search. I would be surprised if the court finds in favor of the fans, but we shall see.
