Huge shoe spill on Miami highway
On Friday morning, thousands of shoes were reported spilled onto the Palmetto Expressway in Miami. It did not help that it happened during rush-hour, tying up traffic as shoes were all over the road for a half-mile stretch. A private contractor was able to clear at least one lane using a front-end loader and a dump truck, but the delay remained until all of the shoes could be removed. It is not known where the shoes came from, but they appear to be used and most of them are tied together in pairs. The state highway patrol is looking for a charity where the shoes can be donated. The question remains: was this a prank, some kind of political statement, or just an accident?
