Stanley Cup coming to Bucks County

Published by zlobe at 8:53 am under Uncategorized Edit This

The Flyers last won the Stanley Cup in 1975. Bill Clement, everyone’s favorite NHL analyst, was on that winning Flyers team. Nowadays, each player on the championship team gets to spend a day with the Cup doing whatever they want with it. That tradition did not exist in 1975, so Clement recently asked some league officials about the possibility. Now, it is a reality: the Stanley Cup will be making an appearance in Bucks County.

The event has turned into a fundraiser that benefits Network of Victim Assistance (NOVA) and the JAG fund. It will take place on November 15 at the Middle Bucks Institute of Technology on Old York Rd. in Jamison. I think it’s a cool idea and it involves the coolest trophy in the world. More info is at Stanley Cup Bucks County. Maybe having an event like this will inspire the Flyers to bring home another cup soon; it’s been a while. Now that the Phillies have a championship the other teams will need to step it up!
