Mr. Met beaten up by his own fan
The New York Mets’ mascot, Mr. Met, was involved in an altercation during a game back in May at Shea Stadium. Now, the person accused of roughing him up has pleaded guilty to harassment. The kicker is, the guy that did it is a Mets fan. Why would you do that to someone who represents the team you love? Now, the 32-year old was intoxicated, but still. Actually, now that I think about it, as far as mascots go in sports, Mr. Met is kinda lame and annoying.
Just a regular person with a smiling baseball for a head. I can understand why the Mets fans don’t really like him. I wonder why it took so long to go to court, conveniently happening just as the Mets’ season ended. The court must have known the team would choke (again) and miss the playoffs.
