Plane lands on Garden State Parkway
Lots of driving hazards seem to be happening this time of year. Here’s another one: a plane on the Garden State Parkway. It happened on Friday afternoon in Wall Township, Monmouth County.
It was a single-engine aircraft that had to make an emergency landing at 1:30 PM in the northbound lanes. I am amazed that nobody was hurt after it landed on a major superhighway that gets quite crowded on Friday afternoons. Can you imagine driving along and seeing a plane come by and land right next to you? It’s the kind of image I get in my head whenever I see the sign “Speed enforced by aircraft”. Reports say that bystanders helped move the plane to the shoulder. I am not sure who the heck just hangs out on the side of the road, but it’s a good thing they were there to help alleviate a situation that could have ended up a lot worse.
