Philly Today

My post today has nothing to do with anything, but hey, it’s a holiday weekend. Now I might qualify this by saying that I might be the only person that finds this funny. But since I am a geek and a stickler for punctuation it’s funny to me. Christine and I were driving yesterday and I saw a handmade sign that said:

Recycling aluminum “only”: No plastic

I noted that there was no reason for those quotation marks to be there and it made the whole thing funnier somehow. If you don’t understand how it’s funny, try reading it out loud and making air quotes with your hand when you see the quotation marks (Please don’t get me started on people using air quotes).

So this morning, I’m messing around on the computer and I stumble across the funniest website! Guess what it’s called? The “Blog” of “Unnecessary” Quotation Marks!! I couldn’t believe it, I was just talking about that. Now I will be checking that site often, and I might have to send in a picture of the sign I saw. Check it out.
